I Will Come Back a Man

This was the first rock opera of post-revolutionary Romania. I always thought a story-based conceptual album will be more successful. And I was right. I managed to turn this album into a performance at the Bucharest National Theater. The story of a soldier, mentally and physically harassed by an irrational, mad sergeant; a soldier who in the end cannot go through with his army training and chooses to commit suicide. A story inspired by one of the hundred real cases in the communist and post-communist Romanian Army. On stage I played both main parts. A crazy one-and-a-half hour marathon. It was the first time I wrote, sang and played a story. It is one of the most wonderful things that can happen to an artist: to write a story or participate in it. Many consider this album to be one of the most important of the last twenty years.
